Litter box cake

I was surfing, trying to find some fun Halloween ideas, and came upon a recipe for Litter Box Cake.  My sister and I made this for my Mom's birthday a few years ago, and it was hilarious, although my Dad didn't appreciate it!  We didn't follow a recipe, but ours looked very similar to this... Kitty Litter Cake.  Warning- this cake will make some people gag- though it is delicious.

It's still Tuesday?

While catching up on the message boards at Hamstertime, I realized that I don't watch nearly enough TV!  I thought I was doing pretty well until I realized that everyone these days watches "Alias", and that "The O.C." (?) is supposedly very watchable, as are a variety of other non-reality shows.  What rock am I living under?  Quick, get me the TV Guide!

Alas, it is the end of September, and we are supposed to be reaching some record temperature lows within the next few days.  I had already begun the winterization process of my garden~ bringing in the banana tree, various ivies, etc.  I'll be pulling up the geraniums and dahlias with the first frost, to go live in the hellish nightmare formerly known as "the garage."  I have two or three exotic flowers that I will  also pot up and overwinter in the house, making sure that they're cat-friendly and not ridden with nasty critters.  I haven't mowed my yard in, well ~  let's just say "a while", because I can always find something that's much more important to do.  This is the one time that I actually hope for an early round of snow, so that I can lock the mini-barn, and forget about the lawn mower until next year.  Then, there's the issue of shoveling.  I wonder at what age it will be appropriate for Jacob to learn these skills?  Is 3 too young?  I think we'll have a little Mommy-Son talk tonight, right before I start my new hobby of watching too much TV.

It's only Tuesday??

I've been re-reading Arizona Ames  by Zane Grey, and am giggling more now,  than when I first read it, say 25 years ago. Why, you ask?  Well, because of lines like this...  "If it ain't Uncle Cappy!" she ejaculated, warmly."  Hee.

Monday night. [sigh]. There is re-hash of Trading Spaces tonight. Episodes where the homeowners hated the reveal. Pam? We hate you more each time we see you cry.

Chatted tonight with my hamstertime pals.  We've moved on to Survivor, since BB4 is over.  We'll miss you FOTH... PB & J.... Mime!

Lonny came over and watched "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days."  This is not a good date movie if your "date" is a gay man.  Although, we both oohed and ahhed over  Matthew McConaughey and thought he and Kate Hudson made a cute couple.

We decided to order pizza for dinner, and I told Lonny that I prefer to order online so that I didn't have to speak to people.  He thought it was just hilarious when I discovered I couldn't get Domino's online.  Well, I did have to call a live person, and it was, as usual, a big hassle.  Lonny sat by, laughing through the whole thing, saying how funny it would be to tell the story on my blog.  Well, here it is Lonny.  And it's still not funny.

Bee sting?  Over 24 hours and it's still buggin. I need to wear netting from now on, I suppose.

I should have stayed home

Okay, I'm not exactly in an angry mood.  Pissy is more like it.  I should have stuck with my original plan to watch some bad TV this afternoon, but instead I went to Lonny's to help him pick grapes.  We've been planning on making some homemade wine, and I was very excited that the grapes were finally ready, so I ran over and while basking in grape abundance, I got stung by a bee.  My first ever.  I couldn't believe it, I stood there cussing for about 5 minutes, making sure I didn't swell up like an Oompa Loompa, (see link on right), while Lonny stood there laughing at me.  I never actually saw the bee, and was worried it might have been something nasty like a brown recluse, but it's been 4 hours, and I think I'm going to make it.  Still hurts like a mother, though.  Since my finger is practically paralyzed, I'm going to go feel sorry for myself.

A lot of nothing

Happy Sunday.  Well, as expected, last night was the tale of three Davids, (one David is my ex, so he doesn't really count).  I managed to evade both of them last night, ( I wasn't in the mood to do my hair), even after a bevy of voice mails.  Here's my "recent call" list...

David George

David Franklin

David Newsom

Argh.  Do you notice a pattern, there?

My friend, Carol just got her AOL Instant Messenger installed, so now I can chat with her in Phoenix in real-time.  Lonny and I have decided to go visit her for Thanksgiving.  The Ex will have the kids that week, and I'll be needing a healthy dose of sunshine by then, so I am very excited to go out and see Carol's new digs.  Lonny and I have never flown anywhere together, and he's afraid of flying, so it should be interesting.  He'll be drunk and hitting on the pilot before we even take off.  I'm sure I'll have some good stories to tell when I get back.

Obviously, I have nothing important to relate today, so I'll post now and will add something informative shortly.
